Some of you may be wondering why I need to have legislative information.
- Well, as a public school employee the vast majority of funding for your position comes from state tax payers dollars and the legislature is responsible for establishing the funding budgets for public school.
- Additionally bills are introduced frequently that if passed could change how public school in this state function, how insurance is managed, how school days are determined and on and on. So it is very important that everyone is update on key legislative issues.
- Many fights take place at the district level regarding wages, hours and working conditions - however an additional fight take place in Olympia and the Public School Employees of Washington are in the fight!
